Dr Dominique Giniaux (1944-2004) marked the history of veterinary medicine by introducing a new and revolutionary discipline, Equine osteopathy. Initially received with suspicion, this practice ended up winning everyone’s support, given the results obtained. His most reluctant colleagues gradually joined in, as his French and foreign clientele increased. This was made up of famous racehorse trainers (notably at Chantilly, Maisons-Laffitte and Grosbois), illustrious sports riders or squires (such as Bartabas, who signed the preface to the work). Everyone in their discipline found, in Dominique Giniaux and his practice, the solution to problems that classical medicine seemed powerless to resolve. Gradually, this new complementary technique became established... 362 p.

  • Dominique Giniaux (1944-2004). Veterinarian, Canine and feline medicine & surgery; Clinic Director, Essonne (France). At the same time, he developed an equine clientele in equestrian centers in the South of Paris and specialized in equine acupuncture and osteopathy. In 1972, he was appointed Veterinarian Inspector of Essonne by the Ministry of Agriculture. In 1975, he was the inventor of the first ‘device for reducing longitudinal bone fractures or cracks by external compression’ and filed the patent. He participated in numerous seminars in the United States and taught his osteopathic techniques there, he joined the ‘Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences’ with the grade ‘Certificate of Appreciation to Dr. Dominique Giniaux for Instruction of the Advanced Equine Veterinary Manual Therapy – Giniaux Method Course’.
