Great, detailed guide for the care and rehabilitation of captive raptors, whether for a fix and release or an educational purpose bird.

This is the ultimate professional reference on a very specific topic: the feeding, medical care, and housing of unreleasable North American raptors used in educational display and hand held programs. The information may be useful for those in other situations, but understand that the subject is not falconry, free-flight training, bird-watching, identification or rehabilitation.

Being new to Raptors, this is my go to book. Read and refer to it often. The Book is a definite MUST HAVE for Raptor caretakers.

This book is an outstanding resource for caring for captive raptors. I work with non-releasable raptors doing educational outreach programs. The book is well organized and illustrated. I learned many things the first time I skimmed through it that will improve the well being of birds in our care.

A must have for anyone overseeing the care of raptors in a captive setting. as someone who oversees the care of about 14 non-releasable raptors for educational purposes, this book has come in handy for reference time and again, and very useful as well for training new handlers/caretakers/volunteers in our raptor program.
