This title remains the definitive textbook of veterinary radiology…covers normal and abnormal imaging anatomy of dogs, cats, and horses,… primarily focuses on radiograph interpretation, although it includes ultrasound, CT, and MRI findings as appropriate. The purpose is to teach radiographic interpretation centered around description using roentgen signs…. achieves this goal with direct and succinct text combined with illustrative and highly annotated examples of imaging findings throughout.

Thrall’s latest edition of this very popular textbook of radiology yet again offers the veterinary student and veterinary general practitioner an excellent summary of imaging modalities used for different areas with the expected emphasis on radiology. for those with a deeper professional interest in imaging it provides some more detailed information. The text is best used as a self study guide, and is less useful as a quick reference to determine the cause of a radiographic abnormality.
